The Travelling Creatives Residencies
The Travelling Creatives Residency
Who are they for?
We are now actively establishing our ‘Travelling Creatives Residencies’. Longer stays for creatives at much more affordable rates. We are welcoming artists, writers, content creators, musicians, researchers, photographers, birdwatchers & solo women travellers. Facilitators for their own retreats, book club gatherings et al, are all welcome to contact us & book in, as is anyone with a creative flair who will benefit & be inspired from being in our jungle haven.
The Tiger Rock room/studio set ups are ideal for anyone that needs a little time to get settled in, then focused on a project. By being with us in our tropical & jungle environment for a longer period of time, you are able to shake off distractions & set up a routine.
For painters, ideally we are best suited to those that work in a smaller & medium size format.
If you are a Creative & are looking to enhance or develop your work while with us, a request:
Please do send us your portfolio/website/Instagram etc. or a proposal of what you hope to achieve/work on etc. while with us. Please feel free to ask us questions.

What studio accommodation is available?
At Hill House: There are 4 large rooms available for separate artists. There is an open living pavilion with a shared table space. Hill House has its own small swimming pool.
The Pool House Chalet: A cosy room that opens onto a terrace. It is beside the Pool House where artists can make themselves comfortable to work at any time. There are moveable tables/tabletops that can be put together for a larger worktop set up.
The Studio: This was Rebecca’s own Studio previously when she lived full time at Tiger Rock. This is a larger space that is set on its own. The doors open onto a a lawn with a view of the jungle. A much larger work table can be placed in this space. The space is suitable for making larger works.
The Birdwatchers Hut: Available from mid- October in 2026, we introduce our 7th room. It is suitable for only 1 person. It is a compact but cosy room with an elevated terrace that opens onto views across into the jungle. A desk is available & its perfect for single, birdwatchers, writers & photographers.
All rooms have access to the Library Pavilion, the Main Pool & Pool House.
Artists, no matter which rooms they are in, can move freely around Tiger Rock & set up their work spaces. Tables can be requested & moved around in the rooms & the open area work spaces.
If you are a creative….other requests from our side:
1. To write a blog for the period of your stay, or tag us in your daily postings on social media. This is something we really encourage as a way to document the experience for yourselves, but also for us to share your experiences & thoughts while you are with us on the island of Pangkor. It would be very insightful for everyone to get your own personal views of staying with us, of the island, of the community etc.
2. A small piece of work that you are proud of, to be left behind for us to exhibit at Tiger Rock.
Working spaces around Tiger Rock include the open plan Pool House, the Library pavilion, the Living Pavilion up at Hill House.
Artists need to just keep in mind other guests around Tiger Rock, & be willing to be flexible & ‘moveable’ so that they can share spaces with others.
Wifi is currently available in the Pool House. Mobile service is generally available but can be inconsistent.
Rebecca Duckett-Wilkinson, the artist owner of Tiger Rock is now living at Tiger Rock more permanently. She will be returning to Tiger Rock in order to focus more intensely on her own art. She will be happy to advise creatives on how/where to get materials etc for their stay, whether they have to bring anything specific with them etc. For those artists that are just beginning their journey, she will also be available to help direct new artists & is will to discuss ideas & techniques when she is in house.
Here is more about Rebecca’s Artwork
Rebecca also provides a limited ‘materials’ cupboard with the basics of various sheets of paper, water based paints, oil pastels, Chinese ink, various brushes etc so that residents can immediately begin to work on arrival.
